Most ID cards used for printing ID badges are made from durable PVC card which has been fabricated with an extra coating that can tolerate the heat of the thermal dye process. If images or logos are to be printed on ID badges or other discount or gift cards, it is recommended that you purchase graphics quality PVC cards also called a “polished card”. Using polished or graphics cards, ink from the print ribbon will better remain to the card itself, resulting in crisp images and text.
